3Ts formula of “testing, tracing, and treating” to curb the spread of COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu informed that the State Government has adopted the 3Ts formula of “testing, tracing, and treating” to curb the spread of Covid-19. While addressing a press conference, Khandu said, “The virus has not entered the community transmission stage and most cases in the northeastern state have been through the local transmission.”

“Our health workers and frontline workers are working day and night to contain the pandemic, and the recovery rate in the state has risen to 61.7 percent,” Khandu said. The State Government has so far tested 93,365 samples.

“Our government will upgrade all district hospitals with quality infrastructure in the next two years and earmarked an amount of Rs 400 crore for the purpose. We will convert the MLA apartment into a 300-bedded dedicated COVID hospital depending on the situation,” he summed it up.

Taking lead from other northeastern states, Arunachal Pradesh had decided to implement a complete lockdown till August 3 in capital Itanagar. A recent spike of more than 100 Covid-19 cases in a single day had raised the threat of community spread in the state.

As local transmission continued to surge, Arunachal Pradesh enforced lockdown in Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) for another two weeks till 5 am on August 3, informed Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar.

Although the movement of essential commodities was allowed in the region, anyone entering the state of Arunachal Pradesh had to undergo antigen tests at the entry point by the state government. They were allowed inside the state only if their test report yielded a negative result.
