Bangladesh building fire: At least 69 people have been killed in a fire on Thursday, February 21, that initially broke out in a chemical warehouse on the ground floor of a four-storey building named Hazi Wahed Mansion at Dhaka in Bangladesh. According to reports, the fire started last night and quickly escalated to nearby buildings in the Chawkbazar area of Old Dhaka.
The area where the fire broke out is known to be a 300 years old area in the he country, which dates back to to the Mughal period more than 300 years ago. According to Reuters, fire officials and Civil Defence Director General Ali Ahmed Khan said the initial death toll was 10 however it might rise as there were dozens of people trapped in the buildings and the firefighters were yet to enter the point from where the fire originated, which is a hotspot.
