Ethiopian Airlines flight, Boeing 737 carrying 149 passengers and 8 crew members on board has crashed on its way to Kenya’s Nairobi on Sunday. According to reports, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia has recently shared a post on his official Twitter handle which has confirmed the dreadful news. The flight ET 302 had crashed 62 kilometres away from the southeast of the capital Addis Ababa, confirmed the airline.
Moreover, the airline has released a report saying that search and rescue operations are going on but there is no confirmation regarding any survivors or possible casualties so far. Reports further say that the flight bearing registration number ET-AVJ had left Bole airport in Addis Ababa at 8.38 AM local time soon after which the flight lost contact with the control tower.
The Office of the PM, on behalf of the Government and people of Ethiopia, would like to express it’s deepest condolences to the families of those that have lost their loved ones on Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 on regular scheduled flight to Nairobi, Kenya this morning.
