A enthusiastic 9-year-old boy, convinced his dad to go for a swim and dive after sunset to have some fun, only ended up sadly in a disaster after his dad broke his neck after the dive. Asaiah Williams was in full glee while he headed for a beach with his parents and siblings to Quitwater beach, Pensacola, Florida and convinced his dad to go for a swim.
Josh Williams wanted to heed his son the price of happiness and they chose a spot to dive which turned out to be much shallower than expected. Asaiah, who hit the surface first, began to worry when his dad didn’t resurface. Quickly Asaiah dove back, put his dad on his back and tugged to the shore despite a 100lb weight difference.

The boy had mustered all his strength beyond his capacity to help his dad reach the shore where a man came over to help and a woman called the ambulance. In his interview with the media, Asaiah said, ”He remembers his dad telling he broke his neck and that he had a little time to decide on when he learnt that if a person jumps along with him didn’t resurface, you need to go after them.”
His mother, Audrey Williams said, she was just 50 feet away with Asaiah’s younger siblings and the dad-son duo were around a ferry dock which was 15 feet deep and they moved towards right which was quite shallow and that they couldn’t make out the difference.
Josh was immediately rushed to the hospital and is undergoing treatment and responding well. Doctors have confirmed he doesn’t need a wheelchair as the injuries aren’t life threatening. According to Audrey, he is responding well to the treatment and has managed to lift his head and just that he is trying to feel his arms and legs.
She concluded stating had her son not been there to muster that daring save, her husband wouldn’t be there and the she has hailed Asaiah as ”his dad’s hero’. An incredible stardom for the 9-year-old.
