Thai Woman Sentenced To Death For Cyanide Poisoning Her Friends In Spine Chilling Murder Case

A 36-year-old Thai woman, Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn, has been sentenced to death for the cyanide poisoning of her friends.  Thai Woman Sentenced To Death has captivated and horrified the entire Thailand. This spine-chilling marking has the first conviction in a series of alleged murders that could total 14 trials. Police gave a statement saying that she is charged with around 80 offences in total.

Sararat, whose online gambling addiction reportedly fueled her criminal activities. As per reports this has accused of manipulating her victims for defrauding thousands of dollars. Furthermore many of whom were her close friends, who were lending her large sums of money.

Moreover as per Thai media they have described her as a skilled swindler. She was the one who was borrowing amounts as high as 300,000 baht (approximately $9,000). On Wednesday, a court of Bangkok convicted Sararat for the murder of her friend, Siriporn Khanwong. The two met near Bangkok in April 2022 to participate in a Buddhist ritual of releasing fish into the Mae Klong River. Shortly after the ritual, Siriporn collapsed and died. Investigators later found traces of cyanide in her body. Furthermore after investigation it was seen that Sararat, had reportedly borrowed money from her.

Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn’s Cyanide Poisonings Dates Back To 2015

Further investigations linked Sararat to a string of cyanide poisonings dating back to 2015, with reports indicating that only one of her intended victims survived.  Siriporn’s mother, Tongpin Kiatchanasiri, expressed a mix of sorrow and relief following the verdict, stating, “The court’s decision is just. I want to tell my daughter that I miss her deeply and justice has been done for her today.”

Police revealed that Sararat borrowed as much as 300,000 baht from some victims, stealing their jewellery and mobile phones after killing them. She reportedly lured 15 people, of whom only one survived, to consume poisoned “herb capsules.”

Deputy National Police Chief Surachate Hakparn outlined the dark motivations behind Sararat’s actions, indicating that her desperate financial situation drove her to commit such heinous acts. “She asked people she knows for money because she has a lot of credit card debt … and if they asked her for their money back, she started killing them.”

Sararat faces charges for 13 additional murders and has been accused of around 80 offences in total. Moreover the implications of this case extend beyond Sararat herself, as her ex-husband, a police lieutenant-colonel, has been sentenced to 16 months in prison for his involvement, while her former lawyer received a two-year sentence for aiding in the murder of Siriporn.

As Thailand grapples with the fallout from these chilling revelations. Sararat’s case stands out as one of the most egregious examples of betrayal and murder in the country’s history.
