Yaebin took to her Instagram stories to publicly apologize to her fans. She writes “First of all I’m terribly sorry for using the Nword on my iglive yesterday. What I did was really wrong. Yesterday’s live I was singing Micky Minaj’s superbass and the Nword included I tried to censor it myself but realized I couldn’t when I saw that video. I was so disrespectful for saying that word. Many people noticed me about how that word has a huge historical background.”
She further said, ”I was totally naïve about it and said you guys are “sensitive” about it. I admit I was so insensitive and ignorant. I’m terribly sorry about it but my intention really wasn’t bad. It came from my lack of education I hurt so many people’s feelings and made them feel offended I really acknowledge my fault. From now on I’ll try to educate myself on this matter. I’m not sure if I used the right word for this since English isn’t my first language but again I’m terribly sorry for hurting your feelings and using that word. Please accept my sincere apology.”
Again TWICE member Chaeyoung was under controversy for wearing a T-shirt on which that word was printed. The top reads, “TWICE f**k”. Chaeyoung explained that the t-shirt was actually designed for their team: the ‘TWICE Trio Headquarter’. Soon after the controversy was aroused fellow teammate Nayeon came forward to defend Chaeyoung.
