Radhika Apte Steps Behind the Camera for the First Time with Kotya
Radhika Apte, the talented actress known for her stellar performances in films like Padman, Andhadhun, and Monica O My Darling, is now stepping into the world of direction. She is set to make her directorial debut with an action-fantasy film titled Kotya.
The announcement was made during the CinéV-CHD Market lineup at the second edition of India’s Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF). The event showcased 22 projects from both established and emerging filmmakers, with Kotya being one of the most exciting new additions.
Kotya is a Hindi/Marathi action-fantasy film. The story follows a young migrant sugarcane cutter who undergoes a forced medical procedure, granting him superpowers. He uses these newfound abilities to help his family escape from crippling debt. For this reason, this unique plot promises to blend action, fantasy, and a strong emotional core, keeping audiences engaged.

The film will be produced by acclaimed filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane. Known for his work in films like Udaan and Lootera, Motwane’s involvement brings additional credibility and anticipation to the project.
