This AQI index is slightly better than the previous day’s AQI which was 285, per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Delhi’s Air Quality Shows Improvement Due To Dry North-westerly Winds

The last time Delhi’s air quality fell under the “poor” category was on October 29, when the AQI stood at 268. Experts attribute the improvement in the dry north-westerly winds and ample amounts of sunlight to helping disperse the pollutants in the air. However, despite the better air quality, the experts warn that the situation is still far from ideal, as an AQI between 201 and 300 remains harmful to sensitive groups.

The AQI has six levels: “good” (0-50), “satisfactory” (51-100), “moderate” (101-200), “poor” (201-300), “very poor” (301-400), and “severe” (401-500). As per the expert’s category Delhi is currently under Stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). All of this was introduced by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM).
