India’s textile industry marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of the India Pavilion at Heimtextil 2025 in Frankfurt, Germany. The event, held at Messe Frankfurt, saw India leading with the largest participation from any country. This signals nation’s growth in global home textiles sector. The pavilion underscored India’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and international partnerships.
The Hon’ble Minister of Textiles, during the event, addressed a global audience of home textile exporters, importers, and manufacturers. He emphasized India’s increasing competitiveness in the sector and the importance of collaboration to drive sustainable growth. The Minister also invited all participating countries to attend Bharat Tex 2025, an event designed to explore investment opportunities in India’s dynamic textile ecosystem.

At the Investors’ Meet, the Minister highlighted India’s remarkable growth and rising Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the past decade. He underlined that the ‘Make in India’ initiative has played a pivotal role in positioning India as a competitive manufacturing hub. He urged global investors to capitalize on the opportunities within India, adding, “Come and invest in India – Make in India, Make for the World.”
On the sidelines of the event, the Minister met with representatives from the Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers Association and IVGT, Germany. The Minister stressed the importance of strengthening India’s engagement with German textile machinery manufacturers, pointing out that India is one of the largest buyers of textile machinery globally. He suggested a mutually beneficial approach, where German manufacturers could invest and produce machinery in India. Highlighting the success of a German sewing thread manufacturer in India, the Minister encouraged other companies to explore similar opportunities.

The Indian government continues to support exporters by facilitating participation in international events like Heimtextil. Such platforms help increase the visibility of Indian products and open doors to new markets. The Minister also toured various exhibition stalls, interacting with exhibitors to explore the latest innovations in home textiles. The craftsmanship displayed by Indian exporters affirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing the sector’s global reach.
The Heimtextil 2025 event saw strong participation from industry leaders. This reflects India’s determination to solidify its position as a global textile leader. The Indian delegation, led by the Minister, included Mr. Rohit Kansal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, the Consul General of India in Germany, and several officials from the Ministry. Representatives from five Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and the Jute Board also contributed, showcasing a broad range of textile products.
India’s presence at Heimtextil 2025 is a clear signal of its growing influence in the global textile market and its commitment to sustainable, innovative growth.
