Bhandara District Hospital Fire: 10 Children Dead in Maharashtra

In a heartbreaking incident, ten children have died in a massive fire that broke out at a hospital at Bhandara in Maharashtra on Friday night. The mishap took place at 2 AM at the Sick Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) of the Bhandara District General Hospital, while seven children were rescued from the unit, according to Pramod Khandate, Civil Surgeon at the Bhandara hospital, as per reports.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire was the outcome of a short circuit. Civil Surgeon Pramod Khandate in his statement to the media said that 17 children were admitted to the Sick Newborn Care Unit out of which only seven could survive the tragic incident.
