Sudhanshu Dhulia has been appointed Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court by President Ram Nath Kovind.
President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Judge of the Uttarakhand High Court Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia as the new Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, according to the Ministry of Law and Justice.
Sudhanshu Dhulia hails from Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. Born in Lansdowne, Dhulia is the second son of K.C. Dhulia, who was a judge at the Allahabad High Court. Dhulia is known to have pursued his school education from the prestigious Sainik School, Lucknow and later completed his graduation from Allahabad University.
Dhulia started practising law before the Allahabad High Court in 1986. He was also appointed as a legal counsel for the State Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand Ltd. (SIDCUL), Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T.), Roorkee, Bhagirathi River Valley Authority, among others.
