Former Miss Kentucky, Ramsey BethAnn Bearse, 29 pleaded guilty to one count of possessing material depicting minors in sexually explicit conduct in December 2019. Bearse admitted to exchanging nude photos with her 15-year-old ex-student, as per reports in a leading news website.
Bearse was arrested in December 2018 and was originally charged with four counts of sending obscene material to a minor. She admitted to police that she sent least four topless photos via Snapchat to a 15-year-old former student of hers while she was employed as a teacher at Andrew Jackson Middle School in Cross Lanes, West Virginia, according to a criminal complaint.
Bearse initially said to the hearing that the first photo was meant for her husband but after she accepted full responsibility for her actions she was sentenced to two years in prison on Tuesday. She was sentenced by Judge Louis H. Bloom on Tuesday and was ordered to report to Lakin Correctional Center on July 20.

She was also sentenced to an additional 10 years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender for life, according to Kanawha Assistant Prosecutor Meshell Jarrett.
The boy’s parents reported finding obscene materials on his phone. Bearse admitted sending the photos between August and October 2018. The boy studied in Andrew Jackson Middle School from sixth to eighth grade while Bearse taught in that school around the same period according to the source’s report. The former school educator was fired from her job during the investigation. The staff at Andrew Jackson Middle School says she no longer works there.
The ex-Miss Kentucky is said to have impressed the judges in 2014 by her fiddle performance. She participated in beauty pageants under the name Ramsey Carpenter. Under the same name, Bearse has crowned Miss Kentucky in 2014 in the Miss America pageant.
