In an emotional reunion, Naya Rivera’s ex-husband Ryan Dorsey jumped into the Lake Peru in the hunt to recover her body along with the Glee actresses father and brother. The trio spent a considerable amount of time at the lake but returned disappointed as her body was nowhere to be found.

Naya Rivera went missing since Wednesday after a boat trip with her 4-year-old son Josey Hollis and never returned. Her life jacket was found on the boat and her son was all alone.

Rivera’s family arrived at the Lake Peru on Saturday and her father was seen splashing water over himself in an emotional connect with his missing daughter, while her mother seemingly quite distressed was seen breaking down on the banks of the lake where her daughter had gone missing.

The Glee Star is presumed dead and reports state that a whirlpool might have dragged her down into the waters.

Sgt Marta Bugarin, a public information officer with the Ventura County Sheriff’s office hopes to bring some closure with the ongoing search operations to the grieving and devastated family of the actress. Additional crew has also been assisting from Tulare and San Luis Obispo sheriff’s agencies as well.

A footage of the search operations has been released by the Ventura County Sheriff’s department on Twitter. A tree limb, in the footage believed to be thirty feet deep was shown highlighted as an example of the challenges faced by the divers. ”Here’s an example of the underwater visibility at a 30-foot depth in Lake Piru,” the Sheriff’s Department tweeted.

A second video surfaced on social media showing the deployment of Remotely Operated Underwaater Vehicle (ROVs) in the search operation. The Sheriff’s department also expressed concern that it might take several days, as the divers are forced to ”search by feel” due to poor visibility.

Any objects visible was only in the range of one or two feet. ”Though on Thursday, quite a few images detected on the sonar equipment deployed seemed promising, the ROVs revealed they were not Rivera’s body,” according to the police.

However, they opined that the deployment of ROVs to be effective, as they show specific targeted images which made the search easier rather than the divers resorting to locate the objects relying on the feel of hands due to poor visibility.

On Saturday morning, the search resumed focusing on northern and eastern side of the lake where the boat was last located. A sniffer dog trained specially to sniff the underwater objects from the water surface has also been deployed to asset the search operations.

As with hopes faded of finding the missing actress alive, authorities have confirmed the ongoing search as a ‘recovery operations’. Meanwhile, Rivera’s family hopes she could be found so that they could get some closure over what is presumed to be a mysterious drowning accident.

In a statement to The Sun, Arnold Dorsey, the father of Rivera’s ex-husband Ryan Dorsey told the family was ”sad” and rallying around Josey hoping to get a closure to the tragic incident. He added Rivera’s son Josey is having some ”good days” and said he can’t make any further comments.

The Glee Ssar’s four-year-old son was found asleep on the boat rented by his mother on their trip on Lake Piru on Wednesday and he stated that his mother went swimming and never got back, according to the police. They further admitted that it was rather challenging to interview the little boy to gather more details.
