Colin Powell has passed away aged 84.
Colin Powell, the first Black US secretary of the state has died after suffering from Covid-19 complications. He became a household name for his military actions.
His leadership in Republican administrations helped shape foreign policy in America for the last years of the 20th century and the initial years of the 21st century.
Powell was 84-years-old at the time of his death.

Powell’s family confirmed the news of his sad demise on social media. Taking to Facebook, his family wrote, “General Colin L. Powell, former U.S. Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, passed away this morning due to complications from Covid 19.”
“We have lost a remarkable and loving husband, father, grandfather and a great American,” they further stated.
His family also revealed that he was fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
