Donald Trump and Joe Biden steam up their presidential bid by targeting each other through ad wars.

As the Presidential elections are coming closer in the United States, China is becoming its mid-point, as President Donald and Joe Biden indulge in a verbal war over who is going to be a strong player against China.

There were ads put out by the Trump campaign showing Joe Biden toasting China’s president Xi Jinping, on the contrary, Donald Trump happened to do the same with Xi Jinping in Asia and hosted the Chinese president at his Florida club. There were glimpses witnessed from the Biden campaign that featured Trump downplaying the Covid-19 pandemic.

Republican pollster Frank Luntz said, “I believe it is going to be very tense, but I am unaware who is going to be on a leading side.” He has been analyzing the ads and believes China is now the top leading issue along with economic slowdown and handling of Coronavirus.

The Chinese issue is not only related to foreign policy but floats alongside the Coronavirus, which has highly hampered the U.S economy. Voters will be introspecting who will be the best candidate to defend America against china’s ill trade practices, theft of intellectual property rights, rising escalation across the globe, and human rights abuses.

“Who looks more deferential to the Chinese counterpart is the person who is in more imperilment,” said Luntz.

In late May and early June an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll conducted showed voters were divided evenly over who would be a better contestant in dealing with China, with 43% were in approval of Trump and 40% with Biden, 5 percent graded Trump and Biden equally, While 10 percent said against the both of them.

Trump’s advisory team see China as a suitable time to portray Joe Biden as obsequious to Beijing when he was vice president in Barack Obama’s regime. In May, a campaign was organized to draw parallels between China and Biden, filled with an advertising blitz, but the attempt did very little to hoist Trump’s poll number.

The Trump administration issued a list of actions taken in order to secure U.S jobs, businesses, and the U.S supply chain from the desecration caused by the Chinese Communist Party’s policies. The U.S has imposed sanctions on Chinese officials for their stand in the suppression of religious and ethnic minorities.

There are a lot of Americans who are against the views of Asian power. There is also a worry about dependency on China’s supply, something that came into light during the shortage of protective gear for U.S medicos.

On the other hand, the Biden campaign is working on presenting Trump as one who talks big but has derailed to hold the Chinese administration liable for its response to the virus. The campaign also illustrated Trump saying Coronavirus would wipe out miraculously in April and now in July the cases are increasing and the death toll is rising.

One of Biden’s campaign ads says, “He would be hard on China instead of being hard he got played.” The Biden campaign also put across Trump’s imperilment on China that was penned by former national security advisor John Bolton’s new book, which mentioned Trump pleading Xi to raise Chinese purchases of soybeans and Wheat to farm states in November.

Bolton also stated that Trump told Xi Jinping to construct detention camp for thousands of Muslims and other religious minorities was the right decision in western China.

Trump has been stringent on China as any other U.S president. The Biden camp argues that Trump has dwindled relationships with allies and pushed the U.S from the international organization by giving Chinese more space to stream their influence.

On the other side, Biden’s camp claims if he is elected to power, he will stabilize relations with U.S allies and rally the international community to establish a united momentum against China.

“Despite warning sign coming in on the Covid-19 pandemic Trump seemed to avoid it in order to get his trade deal done with Xi Jinping and wasting all of January and February into praising Xi-Jinping,” said Jeff Prescott, a foreign policy advisor for Biden.
