3 Dead, More Than 50 Police Officers Injured In Bengaluru Violence

Bengaluru riots: Violent clashes with the police in East Bengaluru led to more than 50 cops being injured and 3 people confirmed dead.

Late night on Tuesday the clash was reported between the police and the mob. The incident took place between DJ Halli and KG Halli areas when the mob started pelting stones and torching vehicles.

In the violence, three people lost their loves and over 50 cops are reportedly injured. However, Police commissioner Kamal Pant told a leading website,” We have learned that three people have died during the incident. However, we are yet to ascertain the exact reason behind these deaths”.

Police tried to resort the incident by using tear gas, batons and opened fire to bring the situation under control. Kamal Pant tweeted, “With regard to incidents in DJ Halli, accused 1 Naveen arrested for posting derogatory posts… also total 110 accused arrested for arson, stone pelting and assault on police. Appeal to all to cooperate with police to maintain peace.”

Meanwhile the senior police official stated, “We have hacked the account of the accused and the data which he has posted was retrieved and soon a detailed investigation will take place”. Further, he added,” Section 144 of the code of the criminal procedure has been imposed in DJ Halli and KG Halli police boundary to limit the kind of incident which took place last night.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddiyurapa has directed the police to take strict actions and detailed investigation against them. The Chief Minister tweeted that the government has taken all necessary steps to curtail the violence and condemned the attacks against journalists and police officers. He revealed that strict action will be taken against the perpetrators.
