Nutritionist Dr. Sharvari Inamdar is an avid social media user. Time and again, she shares her fitness videos and photos. With 5,071 followers, she continues to encourage young and elder people to follow a strict fitness regime.

What is grabbing everyone’s attention on the Internet is a video of her’ attire while doing push-ups. In the video, she can be seen doing push-ups in a saree.

She has been following a strenuous fitness regime for the past five years. She has not only mastered push-ups, pull-ups and weight training but also pulled off these exercises in a saree effortlessly.

In the caption of one of her posts, she asked her followers to share the post with friends and members to seek strength that might not seem the immediate necessity but, is going to impact their quality of life a lot.

Speaking to a leading daily, Dr. Sharvari opened up about today’s stigma associated with saree. She said that women do not wear sarees every day because it’s not comfortable for everyone to wear a saree. But wearing a saree should not be a barrier for any household woman who look after her body. So, that is why I celebrate womanhood.

Speaking to a leading daily, Dr Sharvari opened up about today’s stigma associated with saree. She said that women do not wear sarees every day because it’s not comfortable for everyone to wear a saree. But wearing a saree should not be a barrier for any household woman who looks after her body. So, that is why I celebrate womanhood.

While conversing with the leading daily she also spoke about the misconceptions associated with women regarding weight training.

She highlighted that misconceptions happen when you see women doing bodybuilding women on stage. Muscles are good because they keep you active. One should not consider it a stigma as it is their sport. They do it because they want to look their best on stage. If you train with weights, then only you will look like a bodybuilder otherwise you will not look like. It makes you strong, toned and young.

She pointed out how push-ups and pull-ups are considered as best excercise for men and women shy away from doing so. She adds that push-ups and pull-ups are predominantly male exercises but when you start on a minimal level, you can grow from there under proper guidance. One must not think of it as a barrier to getting better.
