India marked its 76th Republic Day with a magnificent parade on Kartavya Path, showcasing the nation’s achievements, cultural richness, and military might. The day began with Prime Minister Narendra Modi paying homage to fallen soldiers at the National War Memorial. This was followed by his arrival at Kartavya Path, where he was joined by President Draupadi Murmu and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.
The ceremony started with President Murmu hoisting the national flag, followed by the national anthem and a 21-gun salute. The salute was made using the 105-mm Light Field Gun, an indigenous weapon system. The presence of the two Presidents added to the grandeur of the event, with PM Modi warmly welcoming them as they arrived in a buggy.

Republic Day 2025 parade was a vibrant exhibition of India’s diverse culture. A total of 31 tableaux participated, with 16 representing different states and union territories. Each tableau highlighted the unique heritage, progress, and achievements of the regions.
Goa’s tableau stood out, featuring its pristine beaches, tourism potential, and water sports culture. The theme, ‘Golden India: Heritage and Development’, also spotlighted coastal weddings and photoshoots, increasingly popular in the state. Uttarakhand’s tableau emphasized its cultural heritage and adventure tourism. It showcased activities like mountain biking, trekking, snow skiing, and rock climbing in various scenic locations.
The parade also displayed India’s military prowess. The BrahMos missile, Pinaka multi-launcher rocket system, and the Akash weapon system were some of the cutting-edge technologies on show. The “Daredevils,” a motorcycle rider display team from the Indian Army’s Signal Corps, captivated the audience with stunts like Bullet Wheelie, Ladder Salute, and the Human Pyramid. Their precision and skill left spectators in awe.

A remarkable moment during the parade was the performance of 5,000 artists, who performed together, symbolizing unity in diversity. This mass performance is a tribute to India’s cultural richness.
