COVID-19: Amitabh Bachchan tested positive for coronavirus on July 11. The veteran Bollywood actor has now tested negative and has been discharged from the hospital.
Amitabh Bachchan admitted to Nanavato Hospital in Mumbai
Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has tested negative on his most recent COVID-19 test, revealed his son Abhishek on Sunday, 2 August. The Bollywood legend reached his Mumbai residence ‘Jalsa’ on Sunday evening.
The Sholay actor’s son and Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan tweeted, “My father, thankfully, has tested negative on his latest Covid-19 test and has been discharged from the hospital. He will now be at home and rest. Thank you all for all your prayers and wishes for him.”
Abhishek, who had also tested positive for the coronavirus, was admitted to Nanavati hospital along with his father on 11 July. He will continue his treatment in the hospital following testing positive again on Sunday. He also said that due to some comorbidities he continues to remain Covid-19 positive. “Unfortunately, due to some comorbidities, Covid-19 positive and remain in hospital. Again, thank you all for your continued wishes and prayers for my family. Very humbled and indebted. I’ll beat this and come back healthier! Promise,” he tweeted.

Four members of the Bachchan family were tested positive for coronavirus. Abhishek’s wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya, who were also tested positive for Covid-19, were recently discharged from the hospital.
On Friday, July 17th, Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter to thank his fans and furthermore said that he is accepting messages from his concerned fans on all of his social media platforms. Aficionados of the Bollywood superstar have been organising special prayers in different parts of the country for his speedy recovery. In West Bengal’s Asansol, fanatics of the actor organised a ‘yagna’, praying for his speedy recovery.

On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan has a lot of projects in his kitty. Some of them are Ponniyin Selvan, Gumnaam, Chehre, Laxmi Bomb. The much-anticipated film Brahmastra directed by Raghava Lawrence, Jhund, directed by Ayan Mukerji and Manjule, Tera Yaar Hoon Main all scheduled for 2020-2021.
