Galyn Gorg death: Hollywood actor Galyn Gorg, who starred in the fresh prince of Bel-Air and Robocop, died of cancer at 55. Her family is deeply devastated and asking for donations. She fought quite a peaceful battle as she was being treated in Hawaii.

Galyn Gorg death: The fresh prince of Bel-Air and Robocop 2 actress, Galyn Gorg died on Tuesday (14 July) of cancer, a day before her 56th birthday. Her family praised her “generosity, love and kindness” as they confirmed her death on the Gofundme page set up to help the family with the funeral costs.

The star was born in Los Angeles, California and started her career in entertainment by starring in youth theatre. She had begun her career as a dancer and started in various Italian variety shows such as Fantastico and SandraRaimondo Show.

She was diagnosed with cancer throughout her entire body and lungs. The doctors claimed that she only had a few days, maybe a week to live. After staying optimistic and praying for a miracle she has sadly passed. Görg’s representative Sheila Legette confirmed to USA TODAY that the actress “quietly and privately fought a good fight” against cancer while being treated in Hawaii.

Her role as Angie in 1990’s Robocop broke her into the mainstream and Helena in the 1996 Fresh Prince of Bel-Air episode, Boxing Helena. Her other notable screen appearances include as Helen of Troy in Xena: Warrior Princess in 1996, and a guest role in 1995’s Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

A statement released by the actor’s read, “Galyn Gorg was and is a huge part of our family, she means so much to every one of us.” “We were unaware of just how sick she was as the diagnosis was a shock to the entire family. We hastily bought tickets to Oahu without a second thought, as she was getting treatment there.” The statement added: Since spending a great deal of time and money, we are now looking for donations for funeral services.

“Any donation is greatly appreciated, even prayers! If possible please share, we want to send her off beautifully as her heart and spirit were filled with generosity, love, kindness, forgiveness, and compassion.”

The donations on her site have already crossed the $2,000 mark. Her stellar roster of television appearances continued into her later life, with the star appearing in hit shows including CSI: Miami, Lost, Parks & Recreation and How To Get Away With Murder.

Her last appearance on screen was in 2019’s A Christmas Princess. And according to her IMDB page, she was starring in the upcoming film Teller’s Camp, alongside Olivia Olson and Megan Ward, set for release in early 2021.
