Kelly Preston dies aged 57

Kelly Preston, who had won million hearts by her awe-inspiring performance in films like Mischief (1985), Twins(1988) and Jerry Maguire(1996) has died aged 57 in the morning of July 12, 2020, following a two year battle with breast cancer. The actress chose to keep her battle with cancer private and had undergone medical treatment for some time. “She was a bright, beautiful and loving soul who cared deeply about others and who brought life to everything she touched.” – a source close to the family said. He also says that her family wants people to understand their need for privacy at this tough time.

Preston was born on October 13, 1962, in Honolulu, Hawaii, studied acting at the University of Southern California and launched her career in 1985 with her first major movie role in Mischief. She had done several minor roles in television shows, including For Love and Honor. Preston had appeared in more than sixty television shows and film productions in total. She had collaborated with her husband John Travolta on the science fiction 2000 film Battlefield Earth and the film Gotti in 2018. She also starred in the films such as – The Cat in the Hat and What a Girl Wants in 2003, Broken Bridges in 2006 and Old Dogs in 2009.

Apart from her outstanding career in film production, Preston had cherished her 28-year long love life with her husband Travolta. They tied the knot in 1991 and reportedly celebrated their 28th marriage anniversary last September. Preston shared an adorable message on social media tagging her husband. She wrote, “To my dearest Johnny, the most wonderful man I know. You have given me hope when I have felt lost, loved me patiently and unconditionally… made me laugh harder than any other human being possible… shared the most beautiful highs and at times low. You’re a dream Daddio and make life so much fun!! I trust my love with you implicitly… with you I know I will always be okay no matter what happens… I love you forever and completely. Happy 28th Anniversary @johntravolta.”

Her last post on Instagram was a family selfie celebrating Father’s Day in June. “Happy Father’s Day to the best one I know, we love you,” she captioned the photo. When she passes away today morning, a family rep says “ she was an adored wife and mother, a bright, beautiful and loving soul. She is survived by her husband John Travolta and their 20-year-old daughter Ella.
