South Indian Star Kichcha Sudeep Celebrates His 47th Birthday! Here’s 10 Must Watch Blockbuster Movies Of The Actor

On Kiccha Sudeep's birthday today, here are some of the blockbusters that made him one of the most sought after actor in the south Indian cinema.

Kichcha Sudeep celebrates his 47th birthday today on September 2, 2020.

Known for his mass appearance in movies, Sudeep has carved a niche of his own with his varied roles. Popularly adored as ‘Kichcha Sudeep’ after the success of the movie Huchcha, he never had a look back at his career. Today, he is one of the most sought after actor though he predominantly works in Kannada films, he has had his success with Telugu, Tamil and Bollywood movies as well. Here are some of his blockbuster movies which made him a ‘mass star’.

Sparsha (1999)

Directed by Sunil Kumar Desai, Sudeep in his lead role plays as an actor and model. A romantic story centered around two female leads played by Rekha and Sudha Rani, Sudeep made an impact with his pivotal role as a moral responsible individual, who after knocking down Sudha Rani accidently under a moving train offers to marry her though he had his feelings for Rekha, with whom he was deeply in love with. While Sudeep refrain to tell the truth that he was the one who knocked sudha Rani, the movie revolves around how the truth unfolds. This romantic thriller also was a musical success with its hit songs of the year.

Huchcha (2001)

Huchcha gave a breakthrough for Sudeep as an emerging actor. A romantic action movie, directed by Om Prakash Rao, the story revolves around Sudeep playing the role of Sachchidananda aka Kichcha, a college rowdy known to accumulate power through violence but falls in love with a timid girl (Abhista) played by Rekha Vedvyas. The story then takes a turn when he is attacked by brothel goons and during his fight, he gets hurt on his head leaving him suffering from brain damage with memory loss. He spends his life in an Aashram and having lost his memory, he fails to recognize Abhista’s visit. Will he be able to regain his memory and regain Abhista forms the rest for the story. His role was widely acclaimed and won him the filmfare award as ‘best actor’.

Swathi Muttu (2003)

Swathi Muttu is a kannada- drama film directed by D Rajendra Babu featuring Sudeep and Meena in lead roles. A remake of telugu classic ‘Swathi Muthyam’ featuring Kamal Hassan and Radhika, Sudeep enacted the role with his natural acting and created an aura of nativity for the movie. The story revolves around an austic (Shivaiah) played by Sudeep who marries Lalitha (Meena) a young widow living in the village with her 5 year old son. Shivaiah’s grandmother gets her married to Shivaiah and the family is confronted by the villagers as the marriage was against social norms. What forms the rest of the story is the loyalty of Shivaiah to his wife. His acting in the movie again won him the filmfare award of ‘best actor’.

My Autograph (2006)

My Autograph is a kannanda romantic thriller directed, produced and written by Sudeep. The film features Meena, Sridevika, Rashmi Kulkarni alongside Sudeep. The story revolves around the character Shankar (Sudeep) who in different phases of life falls in love with different girls but owing to different circumstances, could not succeed in making them as his ife partners but eventually invites them al to his marriage with a girl of his parent’s choice. The movie depicts the vividness of Sudeep as an actor as he enacts his role of being perfect at different stages of life and his love interests. The movie was a blockbuster and completed 175 days of non-stop show.

No 73, Shanti Nivasa (2007)

Shanti Nivasa is a musical-family-drama film directed by Sudeep himself. Anu Prabhakar and Deepa played the female lead opposite Sudeep. The story revolves around Shanti Nivasa a chaotic residential area with quarrelsome members but the entry of Raghu (Sudeep) a cook, changes the scenes. Raghu, with his wit and impeccable command over Sanskrit vocabulary began to impact the residents with good values and morals and scenes generally changes in the residence. Meanwhile, a lookout is initiated for a criminal who, with his different disguise as a cook, servant or a music teacher is known to steal valuables from the houses he encounter with but whether the transformer of Shanti Nivas has his eyes on the jewels and other valuables in the residence unveils the rest of the story.

Mussanjemaatu

Mussanjemaatu is a 2008 Kannada romantic drama starring Sudeep and Ramya in lead roles directed by Mussanje Mahesh. The story revolves around the character of a Radio Jockey, Pradeep (Sudeep) who runs a program on his radio station called Mussanje Maatu for depressed people. Tanu (Ramya) comes to the city to live with her friend and once happens to call up the radio station of Pradeep and she is impressed by his suggestion. Once Pradeep and his team goes out to raise funds for poor and happens to meet Tanu and eventually falls in love with her but Tanu seems preoccupied being in love with someone else. Whether Pradeep succeeds in winning the heart of Tanu is the rest of the story.

Veera Madakari (2009)

Veera Madakari is a action thriller kannada blockbuster directed by Sudeep. He is seen in dual role with debutant Ragini Dwivedi. The story revolves around Muttai Satyaraju, a conman who falls in love with Neeraja (Ragini Dwivedi) Meanwhile in the village of Devgarh, Madakari, an honest police officer is slained by Babjee (Gopinath Bhat) and his brother Titla and his son Munna. Later, Satyaraju dones the identity of Madakari and takes revenge on the murderers to seek justice in honour of the police officer – Madakari

Just Maath Maathalli

Just Maath Maathalli is a 2010 romantic blockbuster starring Sudeep with Ramya in lead roles with Rajesh with a pivotal role. The story revolves around Siddarth (Sudeep) a rock singer, who is part of a band is seen initially boarding a plane to Singapore from Bangalore. On the flight, he meets Adi (Rajesh) a script writer and chances to talk to him. Siddarth reveals that he is going to Singapore to see his lady love – Tanu and narrates the story of his romantic twist. Initially, Tanu confronts Siddarth at various places, a lake, a coffee shop and on a mountain cliff thinking he is going to commit suicide but irked by her, Siddarth lashes her and leaves. One day, he sees her in a railway station and sees her missing the train and she is then chased by a beggar.

He saves her and she leaves to her native in the morning train. She had given him her golden bangle which he forgot to return and somehow he finds her home number and rushes to the address and greeted by Tanu who introduce him to the family. When she reciprocates her feelings for him, he rejects. Adi, upon hearing is shocked and Siddarth narrates his flashback of a girl fan who took the relationship seriously and committed suicide and feeling guilty he had decided not to emotionally involve. But his unknown quest for Tanu lands him in Singapore only to learn that Adi was her new partner.

Kempe Gowda

Kempe Gowda is a kannada action thriller film which is a remake of Tamil action blockbuster ‘Singam’ played by Suriya. The film features Sudeep, Ragini Dwivedi and Ravi Shankar in pivotal roles. The story revolves around Kempe Gowda, an honest police officer in dusty village of Rona in Hubli dist who is adored by the villagers for resolving issues peacefully but encounters a Bangalore based mafia Aarumugam who enrages him not appearing to sign a conditional bail. Humiliated, Aarumugam comes to Rona and is unable to take revenge but manages to get kempegowda transferred to Bangalore. The rest of the story revolves around how kempegowda manages to deal with Aarumugam’s treacherous plots and eventually succeeds in subduing him. The film was a huge blockbuster and featured Sudeep in a fierce role which won him many accolades.

Eega (2012)

Eega is a multilingual fantasy drama thriller directed by S S Rajamouli featuring Sudeep, Samantha and Nani in prominent roles. The story begins with a father narrating to his kid o the story of Nani, a fly which would take revenge. Nani is a young guy who specializes in making firework, develops feelings for his neighbor, Bindu (Samantha) but she doesn’t reciprocates his feelings. She runs an NGO and happens to meet Sudeep (Sudeep) for donations who is attracted to her. He later learns Nani is a threat to their relationship and later kidnaps and kills him. Nani later is born as a fly and tortures Sudeep causing various accidents warning him that he will kill him. Sudeep learn from a sorcerer that the fly is Nani who want to take revenge on him. Learning about the intentions of the fly, Sudeep wows revenge.

Whether he succeeds in killing the envious and revengeful fly is the rest of the story with a lot of thrilling sequences with visual imagery and digital effects which presents a feast to the viewer. Sudeep was widely praised for his seamless acting and his multilingual breakthrough. The film is uniquely received by the audience which is the first of its kind without a human protagonist but dominated by a villain and a heroine gave the audience have a different experience with this unusual concept.

Dabangg 3

Lastly, we end with Sudeep’s reentry to bollowood with Dabangg 3 in an antagonist role opposite Salman Khanl Sonakshi Sinha and debutant Saiee Manjrekar have played the female lead. Sudeep plays the role of Antagonist Bali Singh and is praised for his power proves in the movie. The story revolves around Chulbul Pandey (salman Khan) the police officer who seeks a revenge on Bali Singh ( Sudeep) who had killed his love interest of his childhood, Kushi (Saiee Manjrekar) . The sequences of the dual encounters between Salman Khan and Sudeep makes the rest of the story making Sudeep a contentious antagonist matching the much famed body proves of Salman Khan.
