Sushant Singh Rajput’s father files FIR against Rhea Chakraborty

Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case: Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide has not only shook Bollywood but the entire country and beyond. The sudden demise of this star is mourned by the whole country. Although Sushant’s demise has stirred up some crucial topics of importance such as nepotism and dealing with mental health nationwide.

After several days of drama surrounding Sushant’s sudden demise, latest reports reveal that Sushant’s father has now filed an FIR against the late actor’s rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty at his hometown, Patna. Accusing her of abetment to suicide, alleging that she cheated him financially and mentally harassed him.

Quoting a cop from Patna, ANI had confirmed, “FIR registered against actor Rhea Chakraborty under various sections, including abetment of suicide, on the complaint of #SushantSinghRajput’s father: Sanjay Singh, Inspector General, Patna Central Zone”. Rhea was one of the first few to be interrogated by the Mumbai police, after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.

Ms Chakraborty who has disclosed that she has been receiving rape and murder threats on social media over the actor’s death said that she “only wanted to understand what prompted him to take the step”.

Sushant passed away on June 14 and till now close to 40 people have been interrogated as part of the ongoing investigation. Bollywood actor Shekhar Suman, who has been actively urging for a CBI inquiry into Sushant’s untimely demise had shared on Twitter, “Case filed against Rhea and her family under section 306 for abetment to suicide..also section 340 and 342.” He had also revealed that a SIT has been formed to investigate the matter.

The actor’s death has also made waves in political circles with Lok Janshakti Party chief Chirag Paswan writing to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, saying “On behalf of every Bihari, I urge you to conduct a fair inquiry into the matter so that no talented person is victimised in future due to factionalism and nepotism in Bollywood.” His death led to a deluge of tribute and recriminations on social media involving the Hindi film industry, which has been battling allegations of nepotism and cliques.
