Thappad director Anubhav Sinha Quits Bollywood

Anubhav Sinha is being joined with two other directors namely, Sudhir Mishra and Hansal Mehta, who have also decided to quit Bollywood due to the toxic atmosphere in the industry.

Anubhav Sinha quits Bollywood

Thappad, director, Anubhav Sinha resigns from Bollywood. Anubhav is known for his straight forward nature. He puts his views very often. Due to the ongoing debate on nepotism in Bollywood, Anubhav decided to take a leave from the industry. The Mulk director took to his Twitter handle to inform about his decision. He is fed up with the on-going protests upon social media. He thus wrote about his resignation from the industry, by saying, Enough!!!

The tweet further informed about his withdrawal. Anubhav has also changed his profile on Twitter, from director to “Not Bollywood”, and shared the screenshot of his edited profile as proof. As soon as his fans leaned about his resignation, they continuously started requesting him to not to do so. While others trolled him upon his decision.

Anubhav lately, is being joined with 2 more directors namely, Sudhir Mishra and Hansal Mehta. The trio together decided to quit the Bollywood due to the toxic atmosphere in the industry. The filmmakers are unhappy with the situation happening in the industry. And to keep themselves away from the debate they decided to quit the Bollywood industry and to continue working in Hindi film industry. Anubhav Sinha started a campaign and urged other filmmakers too to quit the Bollywood and start working in Indian cinema. Not only this but also Sonakshi Sinha has deleted her Twitter account.

Earlier, Kangana took the initiative to talk upon the nepotism. Now she is joined with many.

From many years, filmmakers have expressed their distress upon the preference to Bollywood over Indian cinema and on an international level. The debate over nepotism, insiders and outsiders and favouritism have emerged years ago. But this time, it became social activism.
