The ending of the story has something else to say. The simple plot of the film ends up taking shape of a rather convenient and simplistic idea of ‘chasing dreams’ and age is just a number.
Whereas his dear friend Fali essayed by Chunky Pandey helps to him find a coach who would assist Vijay to compete in triathlon. He says that there is nothing much in his list of achievements. He won a bronze medal at the national level during his younger days. But he had to give up active swimming for competitions. He picked up the job of a coach in the neighbourhood club. He took this call when his wife was diagnosed with cancer and he had to look after his only daughter and wife.
Vijay thinks of all the possibilities he can do that would help in winning the competition at the age of 69. He faces several hurdles on his way, before he tries to compete. He stands for himself to prove that age is just and number and dreams do not occur as per age.
The screenplay, peppered with witty dialogues and engaging scenarios successfully kept the viewers hooked. The film does an excellent job of blending humor with serious undertones. This allows audiences to reflect on their own lives while enjoying the laughs. Anupam Kher’s interactions with his on-screen family and friends are filled with warmth.
