Why is Nag Panchami celebrated?

The women in India pray for their brothers and the wellness of their family. It is believed that whatever you offer, it will directly reach the serpent god. Devotees offer milk to the sculpture of a snake. Perform the puja with devotion. In order to please Lord Shiva and seek his blessings during the auspicious month of Shravan, people perform Rudrabhishek on Nag Panchami Day. Many devotees also perform fast on that day. Food made with milk as a key ingredient is also offered as Prashad to the god.

Devotees also make snake idols with clay at their home for their puja. Milk, turmeric, kumkum and flowers are generally used for puja. Flowers and milk are also kept near the burrows and holes where snakes may be found. Indians are known for their complete devotion and their craziness to perform the puja well. Amid the novel Coronavirus, this time the puja will take place in a different manner.
