Becca Wright, a public affair manager at Ferrero in London has received a hilarious aubergine in her wonky fruit and veg delivery from Odd box. Odd-box is a service which provides customers with fruit and veg from farms that look a little different from the usual produce we see in supermarkets. She subscribed to this service during the Coronavirus lock-down period after getting a recommendation from her friend. She took on Social Media when she opened her fruit and veg delivery from Odd-box and saw an aubergine with an extremely long nose… or something a little more X-rated.
She said: “I really liked the ethos behind it and lockdown seemed as good time as any to start experimenting with different varieties of veg, especially stuff that would otherwise be thrown away, and the convenience of having the box delivered was a big bonus. She further added, “My first thought was that it looked like Mr Potato Head – it was crying out to have some eyes added.”The challenge now is deciding whether to cook it – it’s brought too much entertainment over the last few days that I would almost feel guilty.”
She shared on Social Media about the funny-shaped piece of veg, writing: “I refuse to believe this aubergine that arrived in my veg box was about to be thrown away; I would pay premium prices for this.”And later joked: “ @OddboxLDN I’m ready to be signed as an influencer now.” Since then she has received 205,000 likes and 16,000 retweets on twitter.
