On February 11, 2025, Mumbai Police visited YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia’s residence after a formal complaint was filed against him. The complaint was related to inappropriate remarks he made during an episode of the YouTube show “India’s Got Latent”. The accusations claim that Allahbadia and other participants used offensive language that went against societal norms of decency.
Along with the Mumbai police investigation, Assam Police also filed a case on February 10, 2025, in response to the controversial comments. The show was filmed at a studio under the jurisdiction of Khar Police Station, which is where the complaint was registered.
Ashish Chanchlani’s lawyer, Apurva, was spotted at the Khar Police Station as the investigation progressed. The lawyer’s presence highlighted the growing concern surrounding the incident and the legal action being taken.

The YouTuber also noted that family values were important to him, and he never intended to disrespect them. Lastly, he promised to use his platform more responsibly in the future. Additionally, Allahbadia requested that the controversial sections of the video be removed by the makers of the show.

The All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) also condemned Allahbadia’s remarks. The association called the comments “abhorrent” and “disrespectful” to family and societal values. They demanded that the show be banned immediately and urged industry professionals to sever ties with those involved in the incident.
AICWA’s statement read, “Such disgraceful content is utterly unacceptable and poses a significant threat to the moral fabric of our society.” The condemnation from the association added further weight to the controversy.
