Assam's singing sensation Zubeen Garg has been hospitalized after his health deteriorated at an event in Guwahati on Friday.

Assam’s singing sensation Zubeen Garg on Friday suddenly fell ill at an event in Gauhati. The singer turned actor was immediately rushed in an ambulance to Nemcare Hospital in the city. In a video that has gone viral, Zubeen is seen in an unconscious state while people present at the event offered him water and called the ambulance. The Assamese icon was present at the special function in Gauhati Town Club on today evening.

Zubeen’s condition was critical and he had to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the private hospital which is situated at GS Road Bhangagarh. However, the doctors have confirmed that the sensational singer is now out of danger. As per reports, Zubeen Garg was present at the event to launch ‘Project Borgeet’, an audio album by Assamese singer Anurag Saikia.

Recently, former Chief Minister of Assam and Congress leader Tarun Gogoi has proposed Zubeen Garg’s for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in the state. When asked by media about his political debut, Zubin said, “I have no interest in politics but Rajya Sabha is different. Well-known faces are sent to Rajya Sabha from different states. Let me think about it. Right now, I can’t comment on this, let me reach Guwahati,” according to a media website.

On the work front, the singing sensation has an enormous fanbase in the state of Assam. His work in the Assamese film industry has received much recognition and youngsters in the state look up to him. Zubeen Garg is one of the most popular entertainment figures in the state of Assam. The 48-year-old singer had voiced some of the best songs such as Mon Jai, Mayabini, in the Assamese music industry. His work in Bollywood includes the Ya Ali song for the film Gangster, which garnered much appreciation from fans and critics and also earned him the best playback singer at Global Indian Film Awards(GIFA) in 2006.
