With Assam grappling with the second wave of floods that have caused widespread death and devastation, actor Priyanka Chopra and her husband singer Nick Jonas have announced donations for relief measures.
Power couple Priyanka Chopra Jonas and husband Nick Jonas have donated towards Assam flood relief and urged people to do so too to assist efforts with helping those in the State, which has been attacked by floods and has left nearly 100 individuals dead and in any event 129 animal casualties.
Taking to social media the couple shared the names of a few organisations, who that are involved in relief and rescue operations in the state to which people could send in their donations.
Global icon Priyanka Chopra has always tried to extend support in testing times and has always been generous with her donations. She supports many causes from Children, Civil Rights, Conservation, Creative Arts, Economic/Business Support, Education, Environment, Fair Trade, Gender Equality, Health, Human Rights, Hunger, Oceans, Peace, Poverty, Slavery & Human Trafficking, Water, to Women. She is also UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
Back in April this year she announced that she will donate 10,000 pairs of footwear to healthcare professionals across India. The help, that will reach medical workers in Kerala, Maharashtra, Haryana and Karnataka, comes at a time when they risk their lives to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
Later that month she asked her fans to nominate women who have gone the distance during a time of crisis. The actor will be donating $100,000 in total to women whether they are in the service industry or serving in the security forces.
Priyanka and Nick donated an undisclosed amount to 10 charities including Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES), UNICEF, Goonj, Doctors Without Borders, No Kid Hungry, and SAG-AFTRA.
