Donald Trump needs to shift gears if he has to recreate his 2016 win. With Biden leading the polls, a changed approach with a more dynamic campaign can put the president back to winning ways.

A chaotic debate puts Donald Trump far behind Joe Biden in the latest polls published by CNN with Joe Biden leading by 16 points. Back in 2016, Trump wasn’t leading either against Hillary Clinton. Yet he got a breakthrough by winning the electoral collage although Mrs Clinton was still leading by popular votes. Trump seems riding on his past legacy to turn the tides to his favour in 2020, however it seems to be a costly affair.

Let alone the first presidential debate with Trump who was painting a persona of Joe Biden being ‘sleepy Joe’ ‘slow Joe’ proved to be a muddled chaotic night with Joe Biden slicing into Trump’s domination and seemed to be a witty, calm yet countering opponent which wasn’t expected of him and made Trump being indulging in more interruptions and arguments, creating a chaotic atmosphere.

It wasn’t just the debate that made things bleak for the president but his handling of COVID-19 has sparked outrageous criticism from lawmakers to medical experts alike. With 7.58 million cases and over 212,000 deaths, and his latest pullout of the COVID-19 stimulus seems escalating the decision of the mindsets of the voters.

Trump’s Rose Garden event to announce Amy Corey Barett for the supreme court nominee is now dubbed as a ‘super spreader’ event amidst the dangers of COVID-19. Believed to be the origin of the number of positive cases of close aides to the president and Trump himself contracting the disease has been heavily criticized.

However, Trump seems to ignore and play it lightly concerning the matters of the deadly pandemic. A chain of his actions seems cascading a sense of indecisiveness among the average Americans. He first made his way out of the hospital in a ‘jolly ride’ in a bullet proof car with the security staff being vulnerable to be contracted with the virus and his returning to the White House with just three days of his stay at the hospital amidst concerns of him risking the lives of the staffers at white house.

His pose for the cameras removing his mask has heightened the buzzing outrage on social media yet he seems unstoppable dismissing everything and continuing his vague remarks on the greatest pandemic that has wrecked the whole world by comparing COVID-19 to Flu. While Facebook removed his post, Twitter red flagged it making it invisible, Trump seems undeterred in publicly projecting it lightly when he cut the COVID-19 stimulus which is likely to cost him the support required to lead over Biden.

With Biden–Harris campaign raining tirades against the Trump administration on a number of issues, especially the handling of COVID-19, a shrinking economy, job losses, climate change and a host of national issues and the foreign policy, Trump has a challenging pathway ahead in the next few days.

Can Trump Still Win? Yes, Here’s How!

Trump can still have the last laugh if he can shift gears and lead from the front in accepting COVID-19 a far more serious pandemic and drive the national interests in leading by example and show solidarity with every COVID affected American.

He can count on undecided supporters if he remains calm and poised with his media appearance . He can still strike a chord by turning around his campaign to be more focused on the actual expectations of every American and sow the seeds of a hopeful future.

The marvels of 2016 are awaiting his way to recreate its own destiny. Only time will tell, can he make his way to embracing the presidency yet again for the next four years.
