China sends more than 10,800 assault weapons to the United States and falsely labels the shipment as 'pin samples' to elude scrutiny. FBI now investigates if China illegally supplied firearms to protesters in the United States to sow discomfort and division.

A shipment originating from China reached the shores of the United States catching the eye of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The express consignment from China contains more than 10,800 assault weapon parts with an estimated value of $129,600. The consignment slip falsely claims that it contains “100 steel pin samples” which is a common tactic among smugglers to stay under the radar and elude further examination.

According to the CBP, the illegal shipment was seized on May 22, which arrived from Shenzhen, China and was destined for a home in Melbourne, Florida. “The importing of any type of munitions is regulated by the ATF. This smuggler was knowingly trying to avoid detection, however, our officers remain vigilant, ensuring our community is safe.”

The FBI is now involved in investigating if China was behind the violent protests across America by illegally supplying ammunition to protesters after the death of George Floyd, who was killed by police brutality in broad daylight. Thousands of Americans took to the streets protesting his death and things turned ugly when protesters burned down, shot, vandalized and looted shops.

FBI Director Christopher Wray revealed that the bureau is actively investigating the possibility of foreign influence, especially Chinese interference in the protests. Wray said in an interview on Fox, ”We have certainly seen in the past a variety of foreign adversaries looking to amplify controversy in this country and they use state media. They use social media. Some of that is through propaganda, some of that’s through disinformation, some of that’s through just fake information.”

Wray further commented, ”We are looking carefully at the prospect of foreign influence or foreign interference in all the protest activities occurred over the last few weeks.” Christopher Wray also noted that the FBI has over 2,000 active investigations that trace back to the Chinese government for abetting riots across the United States.
