GATE COAP Round 4, IIT Madras announces seat allotment offers

IIT Madras announces seat allotment offers for GATE COAP Round 4.

For every engineering student, getting admission in IIT Madras is a dream. On July 6, 2020 the IIT Madras announced the seat allotment offers for GATE COAP Round 4 allotments.

The candidates who applied for the seat allotment offer in GATE COAP can check the official site of GATE COAP. The portal will be open from July 7, 2020 to July 8, 2020.

As per the announcements, there are 3 options and candidates can select according to their choices. Candidates who have been allotted seat and are satisfied with the allotment can select ‘Accept and Freeze’ option to confirm their allotment.

Candidates who have been allotted the seats but wishing to take participation in next allotments can choose ‘Retain and Wait’ option. On the other hand, candidates who have been allotted seats but are not satisfied with their allotments can click on to the ‘Reject and Wait’ option.

In further announcements, it’s mentioned that the option ‘Retain and Wait’ is not applicable for candidates who have used it twice before the same programmes and from the same institute.

Round 5 is a decisive round and candidates are only left with the options ‘Accept and Freeze’ and ‘Reject’. So it is advised to choose the option very carefully.

Candidate accepting the seats are required to complete the process by login to the institute portal, payment process, and online submission of documents.

How to check admission offer through GATE COAP 2020?
Step 1: open the link coap.iitm.ac.in
Step 2: login with valid details
Step 3: click Seat Allotment
Step 4: Now you can check your alloted seat institute wise and you need to choose options accordingly.

What is COAP?
Common offer Acceptance Portal is the portal where all the participating IIT’s and ISc Bangalore publish the seat allotment results. Admission in M.tech courses in NIT’s and GFTI’s is through CCMT portal. The platform also helps in securing job offers from participating Public Sector Units. In 2019, 21 institutes and one PSU participated in the COAP programme for MTech Admissions and filling in job vacancies.
