Kasautii Zindagii Kay actor Pooja Banerjee aka Nivedita Basu is all set to be a part of Kumkum Bhagya. As per reports, the actor is likely to replace Naina Singh, who plays the role of Rhea in the serial, the on-screen daughter of Shabir Ahluwalia and Sriti Jha. In an interview with a leading organization, the actress has confirmed that she will be seen as Rhea in Kumkum Bhagya while also retaining her character Nivedita Basu in the Star Plus serial Kasautti Zindagii Kay.
Pooja revealed that initially she was nervous but the sets of both the shows are near, and she doesn’t have to travel at all. She further stated that her makeup artist would be the same too, the only thing she needs to do is change the costumes which won’t take much time. Pooja also said that she looks younger than her age which is why she is fit for the role. In addition, Pooja aka Nivedita Basu will be one again playing a negative role in Kumkum Bhagya.

As per the Maharashtra government guidelines, the shoots are currently paused, as soon as the shoot will start, Naina Singh will be missing from the show. In February Splitsvilla 10 winner, Naina Singh quit the show. The news of quitting the show was not officially announced till then, which aroused many rumours spread as soon as this information leaked. Breaking the silence, Naina in an interview, clarified that she is getting offers for different roles, and also she is not happy with the role of Rhea, as it is totally different from her real character.
On the other hand, Naina, who hails from Muradabad started her career from MTV Splitsvilla 10. She was the finalist of Karan Johar’s Star Plus show India’s Best Superstar. She joined the show, Kumkum Bhagya when the show took a leap of 20 years as Rhea, on-screen daughter of Shabir Ahluwalia and Sriti Jha.
In Kumkum Bhagya, Pooja will be seen as a 19-year-old girl, whose character will be relatable to her age. And will open up the opportunities further for Pooja, considering her being an antagonist. Pooja is likely to resume her shoot, which was previously paused as her co-star Parth Samathan tested positive for COVID-19. Pooja along with her whole cast underwent the test for COVID-19, later revealed that they all have tested negative.
