Mahesh Babu: The Telugu superstar turned 45 yesterday and fans celebrated his birthday on social media. Millions of fans and followers of superstar Mahesh Babu made the hashtag, #HBDMaheshBabu trend on Twitter ahead of the actor’s birthday on August 9th.

Mahesh Babu is one of the most beloved actors in the south film industry. The southern star is all set to be seen in his upcoming film titled, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, which will be helmed by Parasuram of Geetha Govindam fame.

Top 5 blockbuster movies of Mahesh Babu that makes him the ‘Prince of Tollywood’:

Mahesh Babu’s crime thriller film, Pokiri, was released in 2005. He was featured along with Ileana D’ Cruz and Prakash Raj. Pokiri is an action-packed film based on a ruffian named Krishna Manohar IPS (Pandu), played by Mahesh Babu. It was the highest-grossing film, and it gained much attention when it was later remade in Bollywood with Salman Khan’s Wanted.

The film Bharat Ane Nenu was directed by Koratala Siva, starring Mahesh Babu, Kiara Advani and Prakash Raj in the lead roles. The film showcased the journey of a young graduate standing up for the state to fight for the rights of his people. The political drama featured Mahesh Babu playing the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister.

Mahesh Babu collaborated with Siva for Srimanthudu first before Bharat Ane Nenu. The film is about a multi-millionaire played by Mahesh Babu and how his life changes once he decides to adopt a village. The problems and challenges he faces thereafter form the basic plot of the film. Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu are seen in the lead roles.

Mahesh Babu was portrayed as a professional killer, Nandu alongside actor Sonu Sood in his movie Athadu. Nandu is hired to kill a politician but unfortunately isn’t able to do so and ends up killing an innocent man. Riddled with guilt, he impersonates the man and starts living with his family. The film released in 2005 and was later remade in Bollywood Bobby Deol and Nana Patekar as Ek: The Power of One.

Last but not least, the latest blockbuster of Mahesh Babu is Maharshi. Directed by Vamshi Paidipally featured Mahesh Babu in the role of a college boy, who turns into a business tycoon and later a farmer. This movie marks his 25th cinematic venture.

Besides that, the Prince of Tollywood has cancelled his birthday celebrations and social activities amidst COVID-19. The actor has also appealed his fans not to get into any festivities during the Coronavirus outbreak.
