After a mammoth hunt, authorities recover Naya Rivera's body from Lake Piru.
After six days of extensive search, police recovered the body of the missing actress Naya Rivera at Lake Piru. Her family, friends and Glee co-stars arrived at the location after police confirmed the recovery of her body.
In what seemed to be one of the longest searches to locate the missing actress, divers got back to the shore on Monday morning recovering Rivera’s body from the lake. Police said the medical examiner of the County has been called and her body would be taken back to office to perform an autopsy for official identification.
On Monday, they cut in on a cove from where the photograph of her son Josey was shared to a relative around 90 minutes before he was found alone sleeping in the boat. They focused their search around the cove. They focused their search on that cove on Monday.
According to Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub, Rivera would have managed to get back her son onto the boat, however could not gather as much energy for herself to get back after they both went on swimming.

The Glee Star, Rivera, had gone missing on Wednesday afternoon during a boat trip with her four-year-old son Josey Hollis. Hours later, he was found alone asleep on the pontoon but there was no trace of the actress except her life jacket onboard.
Earlier on Monday, the Ventura County Sheriff announced a body had been traced and pulled out from the waters. They further affirm that since the missing incident, there has not been any reports of any person missing and hence they are confident the body identified is that of Naya Rivera and ruled out of any ”foul play” or suicide in this case.
Later, Captain Eric Buschow confirmed on Monday afternoon that the body found is that of the missing Rivera’s and the family had been informed.
Few of her Glee co-stars had arrived at Lake Piru on Monday morning after the news of authorities recovering the body. Rivera’s ex-husband Ryan Dorsey, was seen along with father George Rivera and mother Yolanda Rivera who landed on the lake escorted by the police.

The sheriff’s authorities carried the recovered actress’s body to the shore which was found by one of the patrolling boat and was placed in a van and taken away from the location for further examination.
Naya Rivera, began her acting career as a child artist at the age of 4 appearing in television series as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Family Matters and The Bernie Mac Show. She had worked her way up as a teenager, struggling and holding on to various jobs such as a waitress, telemarketer and other rolling jobs before landing the role of Santana Lopez on Ryan Murphy´s Glee.
