Authorities suspect that Glee actress Naya Rivera might have drowned during the boat trip with her 4-year-old son.
Naya Rivera, 33, is feared dead on a lake in Southern California as search operations continue. Authorities say Rivera and her four-year-old son went on a boat trip and the mother-son duo jumped into the waters for a swim. However, her son Josey made it back to the boat but Rivera seems to have drowned as her body is yet to be discovered.
Josey wore a life jacket throughout the swimming ordeal but Rivera left it back on the boat, which eventually led to her untimely death. Her life jacket was found on the boat when officials reached the spot and her son was alone in the midst of the waters.
A search operation was launched to recover her body using dive teams, helicopters and drones. The operations went on for about 12 hours before her body was spotted.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department (VCSD) released a statement saying they responded to a report of a toddler alone on a rented boat on Lake Piru. They revealed her car was reportedly found nearby. The authorities presumably suspect this to be a ”case of drowning”. However, final reports are yet to be released.

Just a few days ago, Naya Rivera tweeted a lovely picture along with her son and the caption stole everyone’s hearts. “Just the two of us” she tweeted as the Glee actress was seen pecking a kiss on her son’s lips.
Fans of the actress are already pouring their heartfelt messages and condolences on Twitter and her death is indeed an inconsolable loss to her son Josey. Rivera is married to fellow actor Ryan Dorsey and the couple tied the knot in 2014. Their marriage came to a screeching halt in 2018 and the two filed for divorce in 2018 and have joint custody of their son.
