News anchor’s tooth falls live on air, praised for keeping calm and displaying professionalism

A Ukrainian news anchor is being praised for being calm when her tooth fell out of her mouth during a live broadcast.

Marichka Padalko, a Ukrainian news anchor’s front tooth fell out when she was reading a news report live on television for TSN channel at 9:00. Instinctively, she just raised her hand up to catch the tooth and went on about her news reporting for the rest of the show time. However the gap of her missing tooth was instantly noticed by many viewers that created a buzz on the internet.

As soon as the video went viral, she took to her social media handle and confirmed that she indeed lost her tooth on live broadcast and said that live broadcasting is interesting and unpredictable and such an incident never happened in her 20 years of her career and revealed that she thought the incident might not get noticed.

Ні, не щодня?. Просто саме зараз я вирішила виправити ту прикрість, яка сталася понад десять тому. В мене в спальні стояв важкий металевий будильник і одного разу дуже зацікавив мою маленьку доньку. Вона схопила його з підвіконня і почала розмахувати "іграшкою" навколо сплячої мами. І щойно я позіхнула, як маленька весела ручка відбила мені половину зуба. Зараз зважилася нарешті на більш радикальний ремонт. Тільки була не дуже уважна до заборони свого стоматолога надкусувати їжу передніми зубами до закінчення лікування. Власне, тому сталося те, що сталося… Чесно кажучи, думала, що інцидент пройде непоміченим. Саме цей епізод свідомо не виклали на YouTube канал ТСН. Але ми недооцінили уважність наших глядачів. Блогерка @ekulka виклала це в своєму профілі, і …. понеслося по всіх виданнях, і не лише українських. В усій цій історії мене особисто вразила та кількість підтримки, яку я отримала) – і в коментарях, і в особистих повідомленнях. Друзі, велике Вам спасибі❤️))). В будь-якій ситуації зберігаємо спокій? However the video clip went viral after popular blogger @ekulka posted it on her profile. She further explained the background of her tooth fall and recounted her childhood when a heavy metal alarm accidentally banged her front tooth while yawning when she was lying on the bed. She did visit the dentist but couldn’t bite hard food until the course of her treatment.

She further said that she is overwhelmed by the response she got personally and by comments for keeping her head calm and displaying professionalism during the showtime. She was also lauded by her colleagues and fellow journalists alike for an instant normal reaction to the tooth fall while on the show and keeping her head cool, as if it being a normal everyday incident.

She became an overnight inspiration for many to resolve professionalism and maintain the décor of the showtime which went on seamlessly. Later, she and her channel released a photograph of her smiling widely after getting her tooth fixed following an optimistic message form Padalko which read “To live today, not … yesterday. I share this slogan like never before. Thank you.”
