The singer was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles and is now under observation.
Singer and television star Tamar Braxton was rushed to the hospital after reports of attempting suicide and possible overdosing unfurled. The 43-year-old singer was hurried to an LA hospital. As per reports, Braxton took an overdose of pills and alcohol and is believed to be an attempt to suicide.
Currently, she is under observation in an unnamed hospital where she will be kept for 24-hours. So far her condition is unspecified. Braxton was found in an unresponsive state around 9:45 pm at Ritz Carlton Residence in downtown Los Angeles.
Tamar and her boyfriend David Adefeso both stayed at the hotel, as he told police that she was distressed and had threatened suicide, according to TMZ.
As per law officials, the Braxton Family Values star did not leave a note, but the officials assess the cause of her hospitalization as an attempt to suicide. The couple frequently released an episode on their YouTube show Coupled and Quarantined on Thursday, but it deferred without any explanation.
Braxton is the youngest in a family of singers who gained stardom when her family show, starring music legend Toni Braxton, aired on WeTV in the year 2011. Tamar was loved by her fans due to her clear stance and outspokenness and she is a fair recipient of the musical success as her older sister celebrated.
She worked hard to aspire her goals by putting out several hit records which include Love and War, and was nominated for the Grammy’s on several occasions. She was also the winner of the reality show Celebrity Big Brother.
A statement was issued on Friday by a WeTV spokesperson who said, “Tamar Braxton almost for a decade now has been part of WeTv family. She and her family are in our thoughts and prayers and standing with her fans sending strength and healing at this tormenting time.”
Braxton, who is currently starring on VH1’s To Catch a Beautician, earlier complained publicly about how her family was deprived of financial gain of another famous reality TV family the Kardashians.
Her comments were quickly noticed by fans on Twitter with many pointing to Braxton who is of the black race, being sidelined due to their race. “I 100 percent wrote the theme song… where is the coin,” she wrote about the Braxton Family Values theme song. “…Our show is on Netflix…. where is the coin… 10 years on The air… we make 75 percent LESS than the Kardashians.”
