Delhi metro to resume operations soon but with safety norms and social distancing procedures.

Delhi metro is all set to re-open soon after being closed from March, 2020. Delhi’s travel lifeline gets the green signal from Government to resume operations but with proper safety measures and social distancing norms.

Commuters are allowed to travel in metro only by their rechargeable Metro Cards. Even recharging their cards will be cashless and there’s no option for paying cash at the counter for tickets. There are five ways to travel cashless in Delhi metro and recharge your metro card without using hard cash.

1. Web or Online
You can recharge your Metro card by Debit card or Credit card. To recharge Metro card via debit or credit card you can visit Delhi Metro official website www.dmrcsmartcard.com. When you successfully recharge your Metro card visit the nearest metro station and validate through any e automatic vending machine at the station.

2. E-Wallet
You can also recharge your Metro card from applications like Paytm, Google pay, UPI etc. When done follow the same process off your card validation after recharge.

3. Point of Sale Machine
If you don’t want to recharge your Metro card via e- wallet online just visit a nearest metro station and talk to customer care centre agent and asked him/her to recharge. He will recharge Metro card via point of sale machine he has. He first swipe your Metro card and then recharge it and along with the recharge he validates too.

4. Ticket Vending Machine
By installing ticket vending machine, Delhi Metro decrease the number of token counters at the station. And there are numerous metro station which discontinued token counters. One can easily find a ticket vending machine after entering the metro station. You can recharge your Metro card through ticket vending machine by just inserting your debit or credit card into the machine and recharge instantly.

5. Auto Pay Smart Card
This is the new mobile app which enables you to recharge Metro card anywhere, anytime instantly. The interesting point my recharging your Metro card through the app is that when your Metro card balance goes below hundred rupees it will recharge automatically. For this you need to link your bank account to the auto pay app. And when you puncture card to the AFC gate your balance will gets automatically update.
