Arvind Kejriwal slapped during a roadshow in Delhi’s Moti Nagar, AAP blames BJP

Arvind Kejriwal slapped: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal while campaigning at Moti Nagar in New Delhi was slapped by a person named Suresh. Police later arrested the man, who was wearing a red shirt for questioning.

Arvind Kejriwal slapped: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was campaigning for Aam Aadmi Party candidate Guggan Singh on Saturday, May 4, 2019 was slapped by an unidentified person in New Delhi’s Moti Nagar. Arvind Kejriwal was waving at his supporters at Moti Nagar from his jeep while this incident took place. The man who was seen hitting Arvind Kejriwal on the face was wearing a red t-shirt was pulled down by AAP supporters and has been identified as Suresh. Police have arrested the perpetrator and has taken to Moti Nagar police station for questioning.

Arvind Kejriwal was shocked when the young man hit him. Moreover, this is not the first time that the Delhi Chief Minister was attacked. Earlier in 2016, Arvind Kejriwal was attacked with ink and in 2018 he was attacked with chilly powder when he was getting into a lift. Also, in 2014 and 2015 during a campaign for the Delhi Assembly elections, Arvind Kejriwal was attacked in a similar way.

Meanwhile, the video of the Chief Minister being slapped by Suresh has gone viral on social media and many renowned personalities has condemned the attack including Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia. The latter has also questioned the intent of PM Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah of planning to assassinate the AAP supremo and added that the BJP is playing low level tactics to hurt Kejriwal as the BJP couldn’t defeat him in the elections.
