The police officer have assured that they will help the victim avail justice based on evidence and the girl's testimony in court.
Teen girl gang raped in Assam
A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a group of youths at Doomdooma in Tinsukia district, according to reports. The teenager is now 23 weeks and 4 days pregnant, police said on Thursday. Seven people have been arrested in connection with this shocking incident after an FIR was lodged at Doomdooma police station.
The girl was enticed while playing and subsequently taken to a different location. The assailants covered her eyes and face with a cloth and allegedly raped her.
Bobby Borah from the Doomdooma unit Mahila Samiti expressed deep concern regarding the matter. “This incident has shaken us and depressed us. We condemn this act. There have been repeated incidents of such cases in Doomdooma locality over the last couple of months,” she said, adding that the victim’s family had been threatened with violence if they reported the crime to the police.

Bobby Borah further revealed that they also lured them for money. Moreover, Tinsukia Superintendent of Police, Gaurav Abhijit Dilip, shared important information regarding the case.
“The girl is pregnant by 23 weeks approximately. During the investigations, we came to know that seven individuals have been held and four are minor by age. We will file the charge sheet as we have all the evidence along with the medical report which proves that the girl has been sexually assaulted,” he said, according to reports.
The individuals accused in the case facing serious charges are – Aditya Yadav, Bhola Tanti, Krishna Prasad, Sahil Prasad, Vikas Sahani, Tulku Limbu and Vikas Tasa.
