Districts Allocated to Ministers for Monitoring COVID-19 situation in Assam

Assam’s 15th Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has taken charge of the COVID situation in the state soon after the announcement of the portfolios of his Cabinet. The Chief Minister during his first cabinet meeting focussed on the prevailing COVID crisis that has left people in shock in the state.

The CM has finally allocated different districts to his cabinet ministers for monitoring the COVID situation. While Himanta Biswa Sarma will take charge of the COVID crisis in Majuli, his 13 other cabinet ministers and the first woman finance minister of Assam have been allocated other districts for monitoring the COVID situation.

Ranjit Kumar Dass , who has been appointed Minister for Panchayat & Rural Development, Public Health Engineering, Food & Civil Spplies and Consumer Affairs will keep a check on Barpeta, Bajali and Bongaigaon

Atul Bora, who has been appointed Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Border Area Development, Implementation of Assam Accord and Co-operation will keep a tab on the COVID situation in Jorhat and Golaghat.

Urkhao Gwra Brahma, who is the Minister for Handloom & Textile, Soil Conservation, Welfare of Plain Tribes & Backward Classes (BTC) will monitor Kokrajhar, Chirang and Baksa districts in Assam.

Chandra Mohan Patowary, who is the Minister for Transport, Industries & Commerce, Skill Development, Welfare of Minorities will check the COVID situation of Nalbari, Kamrup and Udalguri.

Parimal Suklabaidya, who became the Minister for Environment & Forests, Fisheries, Excise will monitor the COVID situation in Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj.

Keshab Mahanta, who is the Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Science & Technology, Information Technology will keep a check in the COVID situation of Nagaon and Hojai.

Ranuj Pegu, who is the Minister for Education, Welfare of Plain Tribe & Backward Classes (Non-BTC) will check the COVID situation of Dhemaji and Lakhimpur.

Ashok Singhal, Minister for Guwahati Development, Urban Development, Irrigation will monitor the COVID situation of Sonitpur, Darang and Biswanath.

Jogen Mohan, who is now the Minister for Revenue & Disaster Management, Hills Area Development, Mines & Minerals will monitor the COVID situation in West Karbi Anglong, East Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao.

Sanjay Kishan, who is the Minister for Welfare of Tea Tribes, Labour & Employment will keep an eye on the COVID situation in Tinsukia and Dibrugarh.

Ajanta Neog, Minister for Social Welfare and the first woman finance Minister of Assam will monitor the COVID situation of Dhubri and Lakhimpur.

Pijush Hazarika, who is the Minister for Water Resources, Information & Public Relations, Parliamentary Affairs will keep a tab on the COVID situation of Morigaon and Goalpara.

Bimal Bora, who has become the Minister for Sports & Youth Welfare, Cultural Affairs, Power, Tourism will monitor the COVID-19 situation of Sivsagar and Charaideo districts in the state of Assam.
