Nitish Kumar keeps home, new BJP Deputy gets Sushil Modi’s portfolios

Newly sworn-in Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday announced various portfolios for the allocation among ministers of the council after keeping the home portfolio for himself. Newly sworn-in Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday announced various portfolios for the allocation among ministers of the council after keeping the home portfolio for himself.

A 14-member council of ministers was sworn in as Governor Phagu Chauhan on Monday in Patna.

Two Deputy Chief Ministers including Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi, both from the Bharatiya Janata Party are among the council of ministers.

Former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi took care of every minister who had passed to Prasad, including finance, while Devi handled the development of women.

Besides handling portfolios like general administration, vigilance, election, and other departments. He is not distributed to any minister.

Following are the responsibilities of the council of ministers.

Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore Prasad of the BJP will handle Finance, Commercial Taxes, Environment and Forest, Information Technology, Disaster Management, and Urban development.

Earlier, it was formed by the former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi of the BJP.

Under the newly formed council following are the responsibilities of  various ministers

JDU’s Vijay Kumar Chaudhary— Rural Engineering, Rural Development, Water Resources, Information and Public Relations Department, and Parliamentary affairs.

Bijendra Prasad Yadav of the BJP— Energy, Prohibition, Planning, Food and Consumer Affairs.

Santosh Kumar Suman of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) Minor Irrigation and Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Welfare portfolios. Suman is the son of HAM founder Jitan Ram Manjhi.

The BJP’s Amrendra Pratap Singh— Agriculture, Cooperatives, and Sugar Cane.

Party’s  member Rampreet Paswan— Public Health Engineering.
