Sputnik V, Third Vaccine To Be Available From June 19 At Two Hospitals Of Fortis

COVID 19 Vaccine: The Sputnik V, third vaccine approved for India, will be available from June 19 in India, according to the press statement issued by Fortis Healthcare. This vaccine will be available at Fortis Memorial Research Institute in Gurugram.

The press statement adds that the two-dose vaccine will be available as a part of a limited pilot roll out from Saturday in two hospitals of the private hospital chain in India, of which Fortis Memorial Research Institute is in Gurugram and the second is in Mohali.

At both hospitals, the vaccine will be available at a cost of Rs 1,145 per dose, including administrative charges. The vaccine has been directly procured by Fortis from Dr Reddy’s Laboratories.

Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, MD and CEO, Fortis Healthcare said that Fortis is actively working towards ensuring that as many Indians as possible are fully vaccinated. To date, their units were only providing Covaxin and Covishield.

Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi adds that now in collaboration with Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, is among the first to provide a third vaccine option, at the Fortis Memorial Research Institute and Fortis Hospital Mohali. The objective is to expand and scale up the vaccination drive and lower the infection risks to future mutations of the virus.

Meanwhile, India’s pioneer digital payment portal Paytm announced the launch of vaccination slot booking on their app. This is available on the feature Vaccine Finder service. It is a convenient method for those who are facing trouble in booking their slots. Now the users can easily search, discover, and also book vaccination slots for both Covaxin and Covishield at the nearby centre through the Paytm app.

Tinder, a popular dating app has come out to encourage youngsters to get vaccinated. It introduces a vaccine advocacy initiative as vaccination becomes the popular talking point on Tinder. The main purpose of the initiative is to reach millions of Tinder members across India and connect them with valuable, easy to use resources.
