Assam: Home Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurates smart Border System in Dhubri to check infiltration

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has inaugurated the BOLD-QIT (Border Electronically Dominated QRT Interception Technique), which is a technical project to install systems under the CIBMS which enables the Border Security Force (BSF) to use various kinds of sensors to monitor infiltration in the Indo-Bangla Border.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today March 5, 2019 inaugurated the BOLD-QIT (Border Electronically Dominated QRT Interception Technique) project on India-Bangladesh border in Dhubri. According to reports, this project has been launched to check the rigorous infiltration in the 61 km patch on the eastern internation border with Bangladesh in Assam’s Dhubri district. Reports say that Rajnath Singh arrived at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport in Guwahati at around 4 pm today, where he was received by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. Later they headed to Dhubri by a helicopter of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

The BOLD-QIT (Border Electronically Dominated QRT Interception Technique) is a technical project to install systems under the CIBMS which enables the Border Security Force (BSF) to use various kinds of sensors to monitor infiltration in the unfenced riverine area of Brahmaputra along with its tributaries on the Indo-Bangladesh border. Meanwhile, according to earlier reports in a leading website, Rajnath Singh had inaugurated two smart fencing pilot projects on India-Pakistan international border of five kilometers each in the state of Jammu in September 2018.
