Samir Kumar Sinha has been relieved from his previous duties in Health and Family Welfare and Transformation & Development departments.
The government of Assam on Monday appointed Samir Kumar Sinha as the new Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Samir Kumar Sinha will replace Paban Borthakur to serve the position in the Assam government.
Sinha will be serving as Principal Secretary of Assam Government’s department of finance and Addl. Principal Resident Commissioner of Assam Bhawan, New Delhi.
Samir Kumar Sinha is a 1994 batch IAS officer who had earlier served as the principal secretary of the health and family welfare department in the government of Assam.
Meanwhile, Paban Borthakur, a 1989 batch IAS officer, has been shifted to the cultural affairs department as an additional chief secretary in the Assam government.

Samir Kumar Sinha has been discharged from his additional charge of principal secretary to the Govt. of Assam Health and Family Welfare and Transformation & Development departments, according to the order released by the government of Assam.
