Hungarian Grand Prix 2020: Dominant Lewis Hamilton seized the lead for the first time in 2020, after his crushing performance in Hungarian Grand Prix. Max Verstappen survived a nightmare and finished second despite the pre-race crash, while Bottos finished third. Hamilton took lead from the beginning, never allowing a chance to his opponents, and secured consecutive wins of the season, record-equalling eighth on the same circuit at the Hungarian GP. He equalled the record of F1 legend Michael Schumacher.
Ferrari had to be contained with the 6th position. Due to rainfall and overcast conditions, the race began in damp conditions. Verstappen remarkably overcame the nightmare and denied the 2nd place to Bottos even after crashing with hoardings at right-handed turn 12 but the Red Bull mechanics did a marvellous job to repair the wounded car before the race could start.
Verstappen started in seventh, but he was soon up to third following a fantastic start. Hamilton now has a 5 point lead over Bottas, before heading to the British GP. Yet another win at the Hungaroring will also tie Michael Schumacher’s record of eight wins at one venue. Hamilton is hunting for a record-breaking 7th title.

Bottas was expected to take the challenge with his Mercedes team-mate Hamilton, but his afternoon was dealt a major blow following a poor start.
Bottas attempted to chase down Verstappen towards the end after taking a new set of tires with 20 laps remaining, but he fell just short.
Hamilton was on fire and was leading by nine seconds when he stopped on the third lap for slick rubber. Verstappen stayed out for one lap more than his Mercedes rival, but his stop for dry tires allowed Hamilton to assume the lead.
Being his third victory in a row at the Hungaroring, it was also his eighth in all here, matching Schumacher who won the French Grand Prix at Magny-Cours eight times.
