Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin Donates $1.5 Billion in Cryptocurrency to Help India Fight Covid-19

Vitalik Buterin, the star of the crypto market, has donated $1.5 Billion in cryptocurrency to help India's fight against Covid-19.

Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum donated $1.5 billion in cryptocurrency to help India fight against the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic. Buterin donated cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum, Dogecoin, Elon coin and Shiba Inu coins.

Reports state he donated 500 ETH, 50 trillion Shiba Inu, Dogecoin and Elon coins worth $336 million. After Buterin sold his holding in Shiba Inu, the coin fell 35% and several other coins were trading in red.

Indian investors took to Twitter thanking Buterin for his contribution and a user tweeted, ”Thanks @VitalikButerin One thing we have learnt from Ethereum and @VitalikButerin is importance of community. We will not do anything which hurts any community specially the retail community involved with $SHIB We will act responsibly! Plz dont worry $SHIB holders.”

Who Is Vitalik Buterin And What’s His Worth In The Crypto Market?

Vitalik Buterin was born in Russia and moved to Canada with his family at the age of 6. He was introduced to Bitcoin at the age of 17 by his father. Inspired by the new and upcoming financial market, Buterin could not afford to buy a single Bitcoin as his family were not financially strong.

Buterin found a blog about cryptocurrency and wrote articles in return of being paid in Bitcoin and earned 5 Bitcoins per article and gained a handful of coins. He then used his skills and launched a magazine called Bitcoin Magazine with Mihai Alisie, who hails from Romania and is also a crypto enthusiast.

With the help pf the magazine, Buterin became a known figure in the crypto market and simultaneously completed five advance courses on how the market crypto works. Impressed by his knowledge in the field of crypto, he was invited to speak at several crypto conferences in the United States.

Buterin’s fame grew overtime in the crypto circles and he started Ethereum on 30 July, 2015. Forbes listed him as the world’s youngest crypto billionaire at the age of 27 and he held 333,000 worth of ETH at that time. Buterin, is currently worth $21 billion with holdings in various cryptocurrencies in 2021.
