Assam HSLC or Class 10 and HS or Class 12 exams is all set to take place between August 1-15. A final decision will be announced soon, said education minister Ranoj Pegu.
Assam HSLC or Class 10, HS or Class 12: Education Minister Ranoj Pegu in a tweet made an announcement that a decision on the Assam HSLC or Class 10 and HS or Class 12 exams will be taken soon.
This announcement has come after several students of the Assam board demanded the cancellation of board exams.
The Assam Board Exams got postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Assam government had announced that both classes 10 and 12 exams will be conducted.
However, it is not mandatory for students to appear for all the exams and there will be a choice to select which papers they want to give.
Thanks all for valuable inputs on HSLC and HS Exam. We are aware about all aspects including NEET and JEE, 2021. Decision will be taken soon taking into consideration all relevant issues.

SEBA (Board of Secondary Education, Assam) and AHSEC (Assam Higher Secondary Education Council) will give a detailed information on the guidelines on the class 10 exams and the class 12 exams respectively.
On social media, several students are protesting the decision. On Twitter many hashtags like #WakeUpSEBAAHSEC, #CancelAssamBoardExams and #CancelAssamBoardExam are trending. The students are continuously pleading the authorities to consider their health and safety as priority as they are the future of society.
The National Students’ Union of India Assam (NSUI), the student wing of the Indian National Congress (INC), also come forward to protest the decision. They’ve questioned the government asking if students fall prey to the virus, who will develop the state?
Assam Congress President Ripun Bora had written a letter to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma urging him to create evaluation criteria for the boards and cancel offline exams.
He stated that he will wait for government’s decision that will take a very pragmatic decision in the favour of the students.
Assam class 10 exams will take place between August 1-15. The decision took place in a high level chaired a meeting with various stakeholders of the Assam secretariat. It was decided in the meeting that the examinations will take place, but not in conventional mode due to the pandemic.
He also mentioned that modalities and timetables will be published soon.
